Mommy and Me Spring Mini Sessions

“Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” – Robert Browning
This year as I was shooting my mommy and me sessions in the beautiful Mansel House garden in Alpharetta, I kept focusing on the keywords tenderness, power, love and endless. There is a beginning to motherhood, when we become pregnant and give birth, but there is no ending. You never stop being a mother, for as long as you have children, they will continue to be your babies. We are all boys and girls for as long as our moms are around. Is there love greater than the one mother has for her child? I don’t think so.
I never thought I would be a mother. As strange as it is to me to admit this now, there was always doubt in me, growing up and into my late 20’s, about having children. I just didn’t think I was meant for it. I have always been very ambitious, passionate about my passions, work, travel, mind full of ideas and thirsty for adventure. I never thought one day I will sit here and write this blog about how much motherhood meant to me. Now, a very happy and fulfilled mother, I am certain there is nothing else I am better at. In fact, the ONLY reason I got into photography was because of my daughter. She changed me, she shaped me into the woman I am today: mother, business owner, artist.
All mothers are powerful, strong and relentless in our strive to protect, and love our children. We often forget to take care of ourselves, never put ourselves first. I wanted to give moms an opportunity to be in the spotlight, to feel the love and tender touch of their children flood over them during my photo sessions. I wanted moms to feel pampered and special.
Then it dawned on me: the keyword in the mommy and me sessions is mom.
